Stillness is not just stopping—it’s surrender.
We love to carry things. Worry, stress, expectations, the pressure to make things happen. And Jesus? He’s over here like, “Why are you holding onto that? Give it to me.”
But we hesitate. Because surrender feels like losing control. It feels like giving up. We think if we don’t hold onto everything, things will fall apart. And let’s be honest—we don’t really trust that God will handle it the way we want Him to.
We say we trust Him, but deep down? We still think we have to fix it. We think if we don’t stress about it, it means we don’t care enough. If we don’t carry it, it won’t get done. But let’s be real—how’s that working out for you?
Because the truth? Your hands were never big enough to carry it all in the first place.
You were never meant to hold all the weight of your family, your job, your dreams, your future, your past, your healing, your next steps. It’s too much. But Jesus isn’t looking at you struggling under the weight of all of it and saying, “Figure it out.” He’s saying, “Come to Me. Give it to Me. Let Me carry what you were never meant to.”
What if surrender isn’t losing control—what if it’s giving control back to the One who actually knows what to do with it?
Here’s what’s wild—we were never in control to begin with. We act like we can manage everything, but life humbles us real fast. One unexpected call, one crisis, one shift we didn’t see coming, and suddenly, we remember we are not running the show.
Yet, we still cling to the illusion of control like it’s our security blanket. We obsess over details, over-plan, overthink, and stress over things that only God can change.
And Jesus? He’s watching us white-knuckle everything, exhausted, overwhelmed, running on fumes, and He’s saying, “My yoke is easy. My burden is light. You don’t have to live like this.”
But we don’t take Him up on that offer because we don’t know how to let go.
What Would Your Life Look Like If You Actually Let Go?
What if you actually stopped worrying about what’s next and trusted that God already has it planned out?
What if you stopped replaying that mistake over and over and let grace do what it was meant to do?
What if you finally handed over that situation that’s been keeping you up at night, not just in words, but for real this time?
How much lighter would you feel?
Stillness isn’t just about slowing down—it’s about releasing what was never meant for you to carry.
Today, let’s practice surrender. Open your hands, take a deep breath, and choose to trust that God actually knows what He’s doing.
You don’t have to hold it all together. That was never your job.
